Porta Venezia is served by public transport with the M1 underground station and the railway link. The bastions of Porta Venezia mark the beginning of Corso Buenos Aires, one of the longest commercial streets in Europe, and, going towards the centre, Corso Venezia with its elegant late 19th-century buildings and the Montanelli Gardens.
Going further, you can reach the heart of Milan, Piazza San Babila and the Cathedral. The streets on the sides of Corso Buenos Aires, especially the streets of the ancient Lazaret, are the beating heart of the district with art galleries, shops and so many bars, restaurants and bistros that one who wants to have an aperitif or dinner is spoilt for choice. Via Lecco and Via Malpighi, on the sides of Corso Buenos Aires, are two sides of the same coin; alternative and multicoloured the former, bohemian and with a Parisian flavour the latter.
